Meghan Markle the ultimate enemy of free speech

Jeremy Clarkson has said he emailed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Christmas Day to apologise over his column in The Sun newspaper in which he said he “hated” Meghan. The piece, in which the 62-year-old TV presenter said he dreamed of the duchess being paraded through British towns and publicly shamed, became the Independent Press Standards Organisation’s (Ipso) most complained-about article after its publication. Clarkson said his language was “disgraceful” and he is “profoundly sorry”, but the duke and duchess said he did not address “his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny”. Speaking to TalkTV s Kevin O Sullivan, commentator Sam Armstrong called Meghan one of the ultimate enemies of free speech and criticised her for cancelling Jeremy Clarkson. #talktv
