Mat’s got his hands on this all-new sports car to see if it can compete with class-leading competitors like the Porsche Cayman GTS. So naturally, with it being a sports car, we need to check out the performance. The Emira will come with two engine choices, and the one we have here is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 that’s produced by Toyota and is good for 400hp and 420Nm of torque. It powers the rear wheels along with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is good for a top speed of 180mph. Later on this year, you’ll also be able to get your hands on an Emira powered by the same engine you’ll find in the AMG A45 S - a 2-litre turbocharged 4 cylinder! However, Mercedes has turned down the power output on it, so as a result it only produces 360hp & 430Nm. However, although it’s still RWD, it’ll also roll up with an automatic gearbox! Elsewhere, there’s no denying that the Emira is a really classy car. From the outside, it looks super-sleek and is covered with vents (and they all serve a purpose!), and it even comes with real exhaust tips at the back! And once you step inside, the interior quality can easily match what you’ll find in a Porsche, with leather & high-quality materials throughout, along with a good-sized infotainment screen. The starting price is just £60,000, so surely this is the must-have sports car of 2022, right?! You’ll have to stick with Mat to see for yourself!
