Porsche Taycan Turbo S vs Tesla Model S Performance Cheetah Stance 4x 1/4 miles Races in the battle of the EVs! There s very little between them, but what an intriguing impact to the outcome it makes by the state of the battery charge. Having just collected my Porsche Taycan Turbo S and wrapped it green, we went straight to hire a runway for some drag races. After going up against my McLaren Senna, some friends joined with their Teslas to set up a very interesting comparison. With both the Model S and Model X present, in their latest high-spec Performance variant with Cheetah stance, you know it s going to be a battle. The additional weight of the Model X clearly pegs it back vs the Model S and the Taycan, both of which offer a very similar prospect carried out in rival ways. The Taycan Turbo S has 761hp and 1,050Nm, where the Teslas both have 785hp and 967Nm. The Model S is the lightest at 2,250kg, the Taycan at 2,295kg, and the Model X at 2,572kg but all use multiple motors and have instant torque for the most ridiculous of getaways. However, I have made it very clear that I m learning the EV world and one substantial factor I didn t fully consider was the impact of a lower charge. After travelling to the runway, practice and setting things up, then shooting the video vs the Senna, the Taycan was already down to just 36% at the start; where the Model X had 70% and the Model S had 75%. But he last runs the cars were all 5% further down from there, which clearly plays quite a big impact in the results. In fact at the end of the day the quickest 1/4 mile time I recorded on the Vbox Performance Touch was 11.17s, after achieving 10.88s with about 40% earlier. The final less, I need to do it again!
