This city is full of delicious halal food and is home to one of the most interesting Medinas and the Jemaa el-Fnaa square. We are starting with brunch at Azalai Urban Souk. This restaurant serves traditional Moroccan fare with a modern twist. Their menu is always different, ingredients are local and organic, and the dishes are colorful and creative. We had the full breakfast spread: classic Moroccan breads, orange juice, mint tea, egg & khlea tagine, smoked chicken quiche and eggs with smoked salmon. Everything was delectable and we highly recommend this place! Next we are taking you through the Marrakech Medina, which is an extremely ancient city. Hidden street food stalls dot the twisting alleyways. We try a few snacks along the way to our lunch spot. We are having smoky meat kebabs - mixed beef & lamb, and liver & fat, loubia (white beans), salad and bread. We also ordered a Marrakech specialty Smen - an aged butter. This shop is the definition of street food stall and does not even have a name, yet is extremely popular with locals all day long. For dinner, we are taking you to Abraj Bladi, outside of Marrakech’s Medina. This resort is absolutely beautiful, with traditional riad decor, and fantastic food. The chef prepared us a HUGE tagine and tanjia. We were also served a spread of traditional side dishes. It was the perfect end to our amazing trip across Morocco!!!
