I am here to tell you that hitting crosscourt is great at times, but to take your tennis strategy to the next level, you need to learn how to hit down the line. The top tennis pros know how to open up the court by hitting down the line. One of my favorite tennis strategies to teach is hitting your backhand down the line. If you think about it, most tennis player s strategy is to hit crosscourt. So if you hit your backhand down the line, you will setup your running forehand. Taking tennis players tennis strategy and using it against them is a great tool. Hit your backhand up the line and expect a forehand on the next shot. Or... Hit your forehand up the line and expect a backhand or you can even run around your backhand for a forehand. You will see Roger Federer do this all the time with his tennis strategy. Roger Federer plays up the line a lot to open up the court. Next time you are focusing on your tennis strategy, try hitting down the line.
