We finish building the roof of the tiny house/thatched roof hut and continue progress on making a mini village for my one year old daughter. Using water reed and long straw, we tile the thatch in layers to provide a thick insulating and water proof layer. For the walls, we use a cob mix of clay, sand and straw (an ancient primitive technology that is still used on buildings today). The ratio we used was: 4 parts sand, 1 part clay, 1 part straw (estimates). This we mixed together and moulded it to the hazel stick wall (wattle and daub). Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe so you don t miss out on videos!
