I challenge myself to build a primitive friction fire using just an axe. I will make all components from the hearth board to the spindle, to the tinder bundle. I will use some other materials including cedar wood, and also birch bark to start the fire. I hunt cotton tail rabbit using my trust 22 LR, and cook what I catch over an open fire using a spit. I enjoy eating the rabbit in my primitive debris type shelter modified lean to under a fallen tree.
