There are a lot of ways to apply a whitewash finish to wood. Here are my favorite ways to whitewash oak, cedar, poplar, and fir. I used grout to whitewash cedar. I used Varathane to whitewash oak. I used diluted RUST-OLEUM chalked paint mixed with water to white wash poplar and fir.
