Vast oceans, nature and tranquility — these don t immediately come to mind when you think of Hong Kong.... At least not for us before this trip! This is our final installation of the 3-part Hong Kong adventure series — The Hong Kong Outdoor Adventure. Away from the bustling city of Hong Kong that most of us are familiar with, we decided to explore the lesser known sights of the country. Here is our itinerary: https://thetravelintern.com/hong-kong-outdoor-itinerary/ SAI KUNG 00:30 - Sai Kung Nicknamed the "Garden of Hong Kong", Sai Kung offers a variety of hikes around the islands. It is also famous for its seafood! 00:42 - Sai Kung New Public Pier Take a boat out to visit the nearby islands! 00:57 - Sai Kung Boat Tour It s easy to get around the islands in Sai Kung by hopping on a boat tour which takes you to your destination in a jiffy! In the boat tour, you get to go around the volcanic islands and study its hexagonal volcanic rock columns and coastal erosion landforms! 01:10 - High Island Reservoir East Dam & Geopark Hiking Tour Did you know that the volcanic rock columns were discovered when they first started setting up this reservoir? 01:30 - MacLehose Trail Named one of the best hikes in the world by National Geographic Society, this trail brings you to a whole lot of beautiful sites! Get ready your hiking shoes though, because it is a 100km trail that goes from east to west across the Kowloon Peninsula, if you re planning to complete the entire trail ;-P LANTAU ISLAND 01:45 - Lantau Heritage Tour Get to learn about the fishing and agriculture culture along the Lantau trail. 02:00 - Yi O Farm Experience some hands-on farming activities and pick your own ingredients from the farm for your lunch! 02:15 - Yi O Organic Farm There are so many farm produce available here, and the farm aims to revive commercial rice production. 02:28 - Tai O Fishing Village This fishing village merges fishing and tourism, giving rise to a bustling village that is full of life all year round. PLOVER COVE COUNTRY PARK 02:42 - Wu Kau Tang & Plover Cove Country Park Hike We highly recommend visiting Wu Kau Tang as it is one of the last few remaining Hakka villages around the area. 02:55 - Fook Lee Tea House Take a pitstop along your hike and fuel up here! The fried squid was our personal favourite. 03:12 - Lai Chi Wo There are over 200 houses in this Hakka village and it is surround by Lai Chi Wo Fung Shui Woodland which is believed to bring good luck and good life. ---------------------------------------------- Edited by: Jerome Teo - http://instagram.com/jeromememe Follow us on our travel adventures on social media: ► @TheTravelIntern http://facebook.com/thetravelintern http://instagram.com/thetravelintern Learn about The Travel Intern Programme: ► https://thetravelintern.com/about-tra...
