Dare to Travel is a TTI series that features travellers who have a story to tell. https://thetravelintern.com/singaporean-deaf-traveller-mairah/ "Open up your heart and mind and take in what this world has to offer." — Mairah Mairah was born deaf, but she never let that stop her from pursuing her love and passion for travel and photography. She first started travelling solo after an Asia Youth Camp in Bangkok, and has been on seven solo trips thus far. She was heavily inspired by Calvin Young, a deaf American youth who travels solo as well. Mairah believes that being deaf should never be an excuse to stop herself from travelling. Her aspiration is to become a full-time traveller, along with photography, to inspire the deaf community to travel. She also hopes to spread awareness through travel to the hearing community and the rest of the world. Connect with her! Travelling can be daunting. Especially when you’re venturing to places you’ve never been to before. Despite what people say, the world isn’t as dangerous as it seems. When you travel, you open yourself up to more experiences. We’ve encountered the kindness of strangers, new perspectives of the world and even realised that sometimes, we have more in common with the locals than we thought! The list is endless. We urge you to see the world for yourself. You’d only regret what you didn’t do, not what you did do! You’d soon realize that the world really isn’t as dangerous as it seems. We have come up with a series, Dare to Travel, that features travellers who have a story to tell. Check our Dare to Travel series out in our channel! ---------------------------------------------- Edited by: Jerome Teo - http://instagram.com/jeromememe Voiceover: Edelyn Chua – http://instagram.com/chuaedelyn and Jerome Teo - http://instagram.com/jeromememe Follow our travel guides around the world on: ► https://thetravelintern.com/ Follow us on our travel adventures on social media: ► @TheTravelIntern http://facebook.com/thetravelintern http://instagram.com/thetravelintern Learn about The Travel Intern Programme: ► https://thetravelintern.com/about-tra...

So... We have a confession. Our videographer, Sherry, prior to this trip, always used this as her "Never Have I Ever" trump card — She has never EVER watched or read a single Harry Potter movie/book. Travis, the dude in this video, on the other hand, is a Harry Potter FANATIC. He has read all the books, watched all the films, once or twice or maybe even more. Travis then forced Sherry to watch all 8 films before the trip. And Sherry did! She managed to finish all films before the both of them reached London — on the plane ride there, nights in other parts of UK (which we will be uploading a full guide this weekend!), any rest time she had. And she s glad she did it. Else, she wouldn t have enjoyed the experience as much. Moral of the story: You don t have to know anything about Harry Potter to do these 5 things, but if you DO know the series, we guarantee you that you ll enjoy it 10x more, maybe even a 100x more (haha). Check out our Harry Potter-inspired guide around London here: https://thetravelintern.com/harry-potter-london-itinerary/ Without further ado, here are the 5 things you HAVE to do for the ultimate Harry Potter experience in London! 00:16 - The Making of Harry Potter Warner Bros. Tour Nuff said. You get to go behind the scenes, see the exact props they used, relive scenes of the movies and get to do some hands-on stuff as well! It was mindblowing, really. 100000/10 would recommend. 1:06 - House of Minalima Get to look through the actual artwork that is featured in the Harry Potter movie series, including artwork for Fantastic Beasts! This museum-shop houses 4 floors of artwork exhibition, including the ground floor souvenir store. 1:25 - Platform 9¾ (King s Cross Station) We ve seen this all over Instagram. This cute little corner is housed in a small area in the actual King s Cross Station. You ll never miss it because there s always a line leading up to the photography spot. Have fun pretending you re running halfway through the wall! 1:41 - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Play This play comes with two shows (you can opt for just one), but typically lots of patrons book two shows, and it happens in one day. Be sure to book early and quickly though, because seats are always snatched up. 1:49 - Film Locations Hunting Get to visit the actual film locations where iconic scenes were filmed around London. For this experience, we really highly highly highly (cannot stress this enough) recommend watching all the movies first. If not, it ll just be a cool location to take a photo at. But after watching the movies, it s like the location comes to life! (Can you feel our enthusiasm?) Any other Potter heads out there? Feel free to share with us your favourite experiences! ---------------------------------------------- Edited by: Sherry Wong - http://instagram.com/sherrified Follow our travel guides around the world on: ► https://thetravelintern.com/ Follow us on our travel adventures on social media: ► @TheTravelIntern http://facebook.com/thetravelintern http://instagram.com/thetravelintern Learn about The Travel Intern Programme: ► https://thetravelintern.com/about-tra... So you might have heard of the Avatar Hallelujah Mountains and all of its grandeur. HOWEVER!! It can get pretty tricky planning a trip there. But before we let you in on our tips~ Here’s an article for you: https://thetravelintern.com/china-underrated-cities-wuhan-changsha-zhangjiajie/ CHANGSHA (00:33) 00:40 - Huangxing Road This walking street stretches SO a couple kilometres, but even if you walk from one end to the other, it won’t feel like you’ve walked several rounds around the track because there are endless things to eat, see and buy! 01:11 - Yuelu Shan (Mount Yuelu) 01:25 - Chuan Shi Po Lake Also known as Yuelu Mountain, it’s a pretty sweet getaway from the city of Changsha! *Pro-tip: Bring your student IDs for 50% off tickets up! 01:41 - Meixihu Cultural & Arts Center Feels like you’ve stepped into another world.. Really. The infrastructure is crazy huge, and even with our lil mavic birdie up in the air to the MAX ALT HEIGHT, it couldn’t capture a top-down shot encompassing the whole campus! 01:53 - Juzizhou (Orange Isle) Here’s where you can visit the iconic landmark of Changsha — Chairman Mao’s head! Tour the museum to find out more about his background and life story~ 02:20 - Xihulou (West Lake Restaurant)It’s not everyday you get to dine in Asia’s largest Chinese restaurant… The food is pretty sick too, and you get to choose between different mini restaurants inside! ZHANGJIAJIE (02:43) 02:46 - Laowuchang This is believed to be the best sunrise spot in Zhangjiajie National Park, recommended to us by locals! 02:58 - Avatar Hallelujah Mountain Here’s what you came for — the very, very, very famous Hallelujah Mountain. It was used as the inspiration of the Avatar movie’s other-worldly landscape. 03:09 - Bailong Elevator It’s quite an experience, descending into the depths of ZJJ National Park! 03:22 - Baofeng Lake Take a soothing, serene boat ride through Baofeng Lake to end the day~ 03:35 - Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge This is also another super famous and iconic landmark in ZJJ, but beware though, at ALL hours through the day, it’s going to be a crowded time. But don’t let that stop you from exploring different ways to pose for a picture ;-) *Pro-tip: Get inspo from the locals themselves, they’re pretty solid at that. 03:57 - Tianmen Mountain 04:09 - Glass Bottom Cliffside Path Tianmen Mountain is situated nearer to the city of ZJJ, not high up where the national park is, so do take note! Also, yay to more glass bottom bridges and paths!! Next Wednesday, we’ll be bringing you more in-depth tips on how to scale Zhangjiajie, it’ll be super duper useful, so stay tuned!! ---------------------------------------------- Edited by: Chloe Cara - http://instagram.com/qlo.e3e Follow our travel guides around the world on: ► https://thetravelintern.com/ Follow us on our travel adventures on social media: ► @TheTravelIntern http://facebook.com/thetravelintern http://instagram.com/thetravelintern Learn about The Travel Intern Programme: ► https://thetravelintern.com/about-tra...
