While the team was in China, we got to know a really nice local via couchsurfing.com, Jagger, who very graciously invited two of us (Chloe and Renald) to spend a holiday in his home village. A little context — In our final leg of the trip, we were in Changsha, and one of the days we were there, it happened to be the annual Dragonboat Festival, also known as 端午节. It s a hugeeeeee holiday that is celebrated by locals all across China! In different cities, people celebrate it in different ways. In our experience, it was more of a get-together of family members — Making traditional dumplings together, harvesting farm crops, having a wide spread of food for dinner and all that fuzzy warmth when families come together : -) We wanted to capture the essence of the holiday, and what better way than to reach out to locals to see if they d let us in on how they spent the day? And that was how we met Jagger. Follow Chloe and Renald on their trip to a village that s only a couple of hours drive away from the main city of Changsha! Would you want to do the same? :-) *A very, very huge thank you to Jagger and family for hosting us with kindness, graciousness and lots and lots of love. :-) ---------------------------------------------- Edited by: Chloe Cara - http://instagram.com/qlo.e3e Team China: Sherry Wong - http://instagram.com/sherrified Chloe Cara - http://instagram.com/qlo.e3e Renald Loh - http://instagram.com/spurredrenald Ria Chen - http://instagram.com/riallyitsme Follow our travel guides around the world on: ► https://thetravelintern.com/ Follow us on our travel adventures on social media: ► @TheTravelIntern http://facebook.com/thetravelintern http://instagram.com/thetravelintern Learn about The Travel Intern Programme: ► https://thetravelintern.com/about-tra...
