Transport isn’t cheap in Japan but with careful planning, it’s definitely possible to exceed the value you pay for the JR Pass — we saved a total of S$114. Check out our 10-day Japan itinerary from Tokyo to Osaka, along with tips at the end on maximising your JR Pass! ------------------------------------------------------ TOKYO 0:19 - Shibuya Crossing Walk around Japan s busiest crossing and experience the organised chaos. 0:22 - Harajuku People watch and eat at one of the hippest districts of Tokyo. 0:26 - Odaiba Take a soak at an onsen, to exploring this man-made island with big parks and malls. 0:28 - Senso-Ji Temple Marvel at the most famous temple in Tokyo and see how locals and tourists blend in together. 0:30 - Tokyo Disneyland/sea Relive your childhood at the happiest place in Tokyo! Tokyo Disneyland for the big kids, and Tokyo Disneysea for the adventure lovers. YOKOHAMA 0:37 - Yokohama Cup Noodle Museum Learn the history of cup noodles in japan and also customise your own cup noodle souvenirs. KAMAKURA 0:48 - Kotoku-In Renowned for The Great Buddha of Kamakura, a monumental outdoor bronze statue of Amitābha, which is one of the most famous icons of Japan. 0:52 - Kamakura Daibutsu Stand in awe at the Great Buddha of Kamakura NAGOYA 0:57 - Nagoya Castle Entirely reconstructed, but is one of the 3 most famous castles in Japan. 1:06 - Osu Kannon Iconic Buddhist temple in Nagoya that dates back to the 14th century. 1:10 - Osu Shopping District Next to the temple is the Osu shopping district where you can find cafes, street snacks as well as vintage stores. KYOTO 1:19 - Arashiyama Bamboo Grove Walkthrough the thick forest of bamboo stalks which and make a stop at the various gardens around the Arashiyama area. 1:26 - Fushimi Inari Taisha/Shrine One of the most photographed places in Kyoto. The rows of red torii gates are quite a sight. 1:36 - Cycling around Kyoto Best way to travel around Kyoto. 1:38 - Kiyomizu-Dera Temple On the list of UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its 13m high wooden stage perched on the hillside. 1:41 - Nishiki Market Eat till you drop! NARA 1:49 - Nara Deer Park Buy a stack of biscuits for ¥150 which the deers will bow to you just be fed which is absolutely adorable. 1:55 - Todai-Ji Temple Houses a large buddha statue and is possibly one of the largest wooden structures in the world. OSAKA 2:03 - Minoo Park Gorgeous waterfall away from the city to chill. 2:13 - Dotonbori A favourite food street in Japan. You can find almost any Japanese street food you can think of here. 2:16 Creo-Ru Takoyaki to die for. 2:20 - Kinryu Ramen Cheap and really tasty ramen. 2:22 - Melonpan Food Truck Hands down the best melon pan in Japan 2:28 - Overnight Sunrise Seto Train from Osaka to Tokyo Instead of taking the Shinkansen, try the scenic overnight train but a chance at seeing Mount Fuji in the morning!
