One handed backhand myths debunked: Former Top 100 ATP Pro, Jeff Salzenstein, is exposing 3 common myths that could be crippling your one handed backhand potential. Most players make at least 1 of these 3 mistakes... Do you? https://goo.gl/P1WCGu In today s lesson we re going to give you a one hand backhand tennis tip. A lot of tennis players ask me how to hit a backhand like Federer, Gasquet, and Haas. You might have questions about how you can improve your one hander, and I find the biggest mistake you might be making is having the wrong grip in order to hit it like the pros. You and many others want to change your one handed backhand for the better, but you re using a continental grip. Sure, you can keep using this grip and have success, but if you really want to hit it like the top pros, the continental just isn t going to work. Having a continental grip on your one handed backhand will severely limit the amount of spin and power you can get on the ball. You will lack racquet head speed and the sweeping low to high motion that you see the top pros using. A great one hand backhand tennis tip is to make sure you have an eastern grip (not forehand) just like many pros. The hand slides from a continental to an eastern by moving more towards the backhand side. This one hand backhand tennis tip will allow you to start with the racquet higher when you make the first move and let you swing with more racquet head acceleration so that you can create more spin and power on your shots. Not only will you be able to drive the ball, but you ll also get effortless spin with this grip. Using this grip is just like using a semi-western grip on the forehand. It will allow you to use your hand and the racquet in a more effective manner to create more spin and power. Moving your grip over on a one hand backhand will make a world of difference. Next time you play tennis use this one hand backhand tennis tip by playing with an eastern grip, the same grip many pros use.
