COURSE MANAGEMENT: SCARY GREENS and INDIFFERENT ATTITUDE

Playas, I played Cheechan Golf Course in Chonburi Thailand. This is not a joke course. It s LONG from the shortest "men s" tees at around 6500 yards and gets super long on the further back tees. It s already easily in my top 3 golf courses played in Thailand. This places greens are legit and the complexes around the greens and bunkering on the course with the contours, is SUPERB. I just did not want to be above the hole here. I had to focus on a few things here to keep the score down. I just wasn t REALLY jazzed to play on this day. I was playing with two subscribers though (by chance) and needed to put up some kind of decent showing. 1. Hit what you know - which I failed at because I hit a few knock down shots and punchy type shots. 2. KEEP THE BALL BELOW THE HOLE as much as possible so I wasn t putting down grain and downhill. These green complexes are crazy and the ball can easily slide by 5 or 6 feet on short putts. 3. DO NOT short side myself which I did plenty of. But these things happen and we just learn from them. It s the first time at the course so give yourself a break and then use that info for the next time you play there. GOLF IS A LONG TERM PURSUIT. THIS IS NOT A GAME WITH A DESTINATION. THAT S THE REASON THE WORLD NUMBER ONE S EVEN CHANGE THEIR SWINGS AND APPROACHES. IT S A JOURNEY OF EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT, CONSISTENCY CHASING AND FUN. SEE IT THAT WAY, AND IT MAKES IT A LOT EASIER TO KEEP PLAYING!
