Kate Fincham was renting a house in downtown Toronto and living with four housemates before she came across a small houseboat for sale in the Scarborough Bluffs area in 2020. Custom built by an artist in the 1990’s, Kate purchased the tiny floating home and moved in with her cat. See how she brought in her own personal touches by transforming the multi-functional small space into a modern nautical oasis. In the kitchen, she switched out the cabinet doors with caning and matte black handles — her own clever DIY! The bright and beautiful bathroom features a free-standing tub and water closet, while the main living space has an antique desk facing the lake, perfect for Kate s WFH lifestyle. The sculptural Cloud bookshelf by Cappellini brings visual interest to the room and the loft bedroom leads to a rooftop patio surrounded by greenery and beautiful Lake Ontario.
