Today is day 2 here in Phuket, Thailand. I m starting my day off with Kanom Jeen a southern Thai fermented rice noodle with curry. Eating with various herbs and vegetables this is a healthy and refreshing southern Thai speciality. This local Kanom Jeen joint in the heart of Phuket Town is called Pa Mai. After my first breakfast I went to try the famous crispy pork at ร้านหมูกรอบภูเก็ต จี้ฮอง . Unfortunately for me the crispy pork had finished for the day so I sampled their red pork. Which was quite sweet for my taste but would go perfect with some of the crispy pork. Next time! The Big Buddha is one of Phuket island s top attractions and it doesn t disappoint. Sitting high and mighty overlooking the island, Big Buddha is a site everyone should see when visiting Phuket. Next up I went to Nam Yoi restaurant for some SUPER SPICY southern Thai fare. This was one of the best meals i ve had in Thailand so far. So fresh and diverse in flavours, I m falling in love with Thai food! This is also a must visit in my opinion for authentic taste in Phuket. As the sun went down I made my way to Khao Rang, a beautiful lookout point and perfect sunset watching destination. I was a little late but Phuket sunsets rarely disappoint. Go Benz is one of the if not THE most popular food stops on everyones food tour of Phuket Town. You ve got to try their Khao Tom. Although I did find it underwhelming, it s worth a try just for the atmosphere and their crispy pork satisfied my missed craving from earlier. ___________________ I m Luke Martin, food lover and world traveller!
