Our relationship changed drastically because of it. It really wasn t until doing this live that I realized I couldn t understand her reservations because I never had a maternal instinct. I only ever thought about the good I was doing to help my best friends. I completely disregarded her maternal feelings towards biological grandchildren because I couldn t understand them. So to me, those feelings would never be stronger than my desire to help my best friends.
