Come join us for Nepali food as we eat various kinds of momo from traditional to contemporary in this taste test all over Kathmandu, Nepal. We first start our taste test at the Kaiser Cafe located at the attraction Garden of Dreams where we try classic steamed momo stuffed with vegetables and spicy curry paste. We next move on to Thamel Momo Hut where we try Palak Paneer Momo and Yummy Chocolate Momos filled with peanut butter. Our final taste test of Nepali Momo is at one of favorite restaurants in Kathmandu called Places where we had Pesto Momo and Pumpkin Momo once again in Thamel. Overall, we found Nepalese Momo to be cheap and delicious. We highly recommend you try them out when in Kathmandu, Nepal! Momos. How excited are you? I m very excited. So basically momo (མོག་མོག) are dumplings with Tibetan roots. Tibetan origins and you can have them steamed or fried. It is a really popular dish here in Nepal (नेपाल) so we re going to be trying to eat as many momos as possible in the coming days. Yeah, so we re just going to hit up a bunch of different places and have different variations because some of them can be steamed, some of them can be fried. They can be sweet, they can be savory. We re going to try some with typical ingredients and also some ones that are more contemporary. Ooh. So we re going to be eating a lot of momo (饃饃). Let s go eat momo (मम)! Vegetable Momos. It is momo (饃饃) time. So we ordered vegetable momo today. Palak Paneer Momos & Chocolate Momos. Alright guys, so we made it to the Momo Hut and I think the name says it all. This place specializes in momo (ममचा). And actually they have over 20 varieties. Some of the fillings are a bit unusual. You can get ostrich, a rabbit, chicken sausage, peanuts. But we ve gone for something a little a little more tame. We are having palak paneer. That is our savory one and we also got yummy chocolate with melted ooey gooey chocolate. Pesto Momos & Pumpkin Momos. So here we go. The pesto momos (मम) are here. Yeah, so these are very contemporary. A contemporary take on momo (ममचा). Okay, so we finished the pesto momo (馍馍) but this next dish is what we came for. We are having the pumpkin momo with a chocolate chili sauce and we had this yesterday on our 1st day in town. Alright, I m going to get lots of chocolate on here. Last time we didn t finish all of the chocolate. So we ll try not to make that same mistake. Oh la lah. And this is a chili chocolate sauce guys. So it has got a bit of spice. And it is slightly bitter chocolate. It is so good. You can tell it is really high quality chocolate that has been melted. Mmmm. And the thing I like about the pumpkin filling in here. Mmmhmmm. Is that is has got a lot of spices. It reminds me of like a really nice spiced Thanksgiving pie. A pumpkin pie that has a lot of spices put on top. Mmmhmmm. This is just so good. Alright. We ll be coming we ll be eating this again. The verdict? We loved Momos (मम)!
