In Nanaimo Bay, you can catch Chinook and Coho salmon, Lingcod, Rockfish and much more! We are heading out with Peter from Coastal Blue Adventures to try salmon fishing for the first time! Later, we are taking our catch home to cedar plank a chinook salmon (with brown sugar) and lingcod (lemon/pepper). The cedar planks are available at local lumbar stores and we cooked them on the BBQ. The trick to the cedar planks are to soak them overnight. It makes the fish have a sweet and smoky aroma! Let us know in the comments whose recipe looked the most delicious: Luke’s or Sabrina’s! To top the day off, we had to eat a dessert that is famous around all of Canada - Nanaimo bars! Nanaimo bars are a layered dessert. The first layer is a wafer mixed with coconut, the second layer is a custard butter and the top layer is a chocolate ganache. These are SO good and are a MUST EAT when you’re in Nanaimo!!!
