SURVIVAL CHALLENGE FISHING With PRIMITIVE GORGE HOOKS | TROUT SUCCESS!

After producing some rudimentary gorge hooks out of chickens bones I set out to test their effectiveness. As luck would have it, I was successful, but further experimentation provide how frustrating and ineffective primitive gear really is compared to modern equipment. In the video I use chicken bones, but a wooden gorge hook would work as well, possibly even better since it might not get so soft and therefore as dull. You can see that this is a difficult spot to fish due to the snag hazards so letting fish swallow the gorge hook isn t as effective as it could be. The key is to let the bait be consumed totally by the fish so that it wedges in the fishes throat or stomach. I used modern gear including modern rod and modern line. I could only imagine how difficult it would be to be successful having to make and use primitive line and a rod.
