OMG!!! I CAN T BELIEVE Jinx Taught Morgan THIS!

Hormonal (or sexual) behavior from parrots can be very deceiving! While you might think they re shivering from cold... they re actually shaking/sexually quivering... from... not cold... ;) There are lots of changes during this season to be aware of, check out https://www.birdtricksstore.com/products/spring-hormones for more on that topic! So Morgan had around a week off in a travel carrier with no flighted or real exercise as she had grown accustomed to, she was also being fed more (only the good stuff) so her weight is heavy and she wasn t very responsive for training. Here s how I made THAT situation into a positive! (watch the video!) In the end, even I was surprised by the outcome... THANK YOU JINXI! I love how interested in LEARNING Morgan is!! Some things were left to unclear I see from the comments I m getting: Since Morgan was showing signs of what could be related to a health issue - Patty took her into a warmer climate, isolated the potential for exercise and increased her healthy food intake to intentionally put on weight to be able to correctly monitor Morgan to rule out health concerns. Keep in mind hormonal behavior is different in all parrots and this is Patty s first hormonal season with Morgan to learn what she is and isn t like. This was a good choice for Morgan to rule out any health concerns before continuing on with formal training (otherwise training could exacerbate a health risk)! She was in a massive crate!! It was one of my own... and there s just no just crate that can accommodate their long tails - the curly thing is TEMPORARY, it goes away with a single shower! No biggie. Also her up in weight is temporary too and as she goes back to aviary life indoors, and eating as before, everything will fall back into place easily. So this isn t a huge set back - simply a few day set back.
