🌮 THIS IS MEXICO CITY! - one of the greatest food cities in the world! This is our 2nd episode from out Mexican Street Food series in Mexico City, with our friend Peluche Torres. Go subscribe to his channel! https://www.youtube.com/c/PelucheTorres We are starting the day at the Mercado de Coyoacán which is a famous market in CDMX, opened in 1921. Inside this colourful market is a tostada stall serving a huge variety of tostadas. We ordered the Campechana Tostada (mixed seafood) and Tinga de Pollo Tostada (shredded, marinated chicken). We explored the Coyoacán neighbourhood and stopped by a local food court (Mercado de Comida de Coyoacán) to try Gorditas. This translated to “little fatty” and after seeing the ingredients stuffed in and it being deep-fried, we now know why! This street food is HEAVY! Not too far from the Coyoacán neighbourhood is a the Los Sifones restaurant. We wanted to try a few unique dishes like the Molcajete (which is the stone dish it is served in) and the Tacos Alambre (served with square tortillas). You can choose to sit inside the restaurant or outside in the garden terrace. It was awesome watching the chefs work in the open kitchen! The food was delicious! We continued on our street food tour by going to the legendary Taqueria El Abanico. Although they serve different types of tacos and other traditional Mexican dishes, we were there for their carnitas. These carnitas were MASSIVE!!! For our final meal of the day, and our last stop with Peluche, we went to another super famous street food stall (which is an automotive shop in the daytime), El Vilsito. We came here to eat their tacos al pastor, which is marinated pork on a spit. The flames were HUGE!!! The pork was cut perfectly and the slice of pineapple was heaven. Addresses: Mercado de Coyoacán Tostadas (in the market) Mercado de Comida de Coyoacán Los Sifones Taqueria El Abanico El Vilsito We hope you enjoyed this episode from MEXICO!!!!
