Building The Loft of the Log Cabin using Hand Tools | Axe, Cherry Tree, Ostrich, Snowshoeing

In need of building materials for the loft in the off grid log cabin and log sauna, Cali and I snowshoe through the deep snow in the forest to the grove of dead trees that burned in a lightening strike, seeking out a large black cherry tree that I have had my eye on for two years. I plan to mill it into planks and beams to renovate the sleeping loft, adding storage for clothes and more. I use an axe to cut down the tree - much more exhausting than I anticipated because the wood is seasoned and frozen.
