P0018 After Timing Job?? -Part 1

This 2009 Chevy Traverse V6 has 145k miles and is throwing a P0018 timing code. REPLACE THE CHAINS, right? Well the owner actually did replace the chains a few months back as preventative maintenance before any codes were set...so how to explain this P0018 setting with all NEW parts?
