►1. Bangkok Travel Guide eBook (it’s free): http://migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ ►2. T-shirts available now: https://www.eatingthaifood.com/store/ Watch the entire 2 Weeks In Bangkok video series here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH-SL7DGBnQ&list=PLeoy0zUu6bqmHWx6b2Umy44yuRDpS3FQt&index=1 I want to say a big thank you for watching this entire Bangkok travel guide video series, and I hope that it has given you some amazing idea for things to do in Bangkok and also for restaurant and Thai dishes to try when you’re in Bangkok. Day 15 was our final day traveling or visiting Bangkok, and we started off at the hotel, where we relaxed for part of the morning. After packing up our stuff, we left our bag at the front of the hotel and headed off down Charoen Krung road to have one last final incredible meal in Bangkok. 1:46 Pa Krua Tuan (ร้านพ่อครัวเถื่อน) - Pa Krua Tuan (ร้านพ่อครัวเถื่อน) is an old Thai restaurant in the lower Charoen Krung area of Bangkok, and it was just about a 15 minute walk to get there from Chatrium Riverside hotel. When we arrived, the restaurant was just opening up for lunch, and we got a seat in the alley and ordered. Pa Krua Tuan (ร้านพ่อครัวเถื่อน) specializes in steamed dish, which are sort of boiled and steamed at the same time in small little bowls. They have all sorts of combinations of these Thai Chinese style steamed dishes. Kai toon (ไข่ตุ๋น) or steamed egg is something I always enjoy, and at this restaurant they made it incredible good. Ying and I also had the kra por pla toon gai ya jeen (กระเพาะปลาตุ๋นไก่ยาจีน), fish maw boiled in soup with mushrooms and some Chinese herbs and spices, it was equally as delicious. Another dish we ordered, which was unlike any other Thai dish I’ve had in Bangkok was pla duk tod krob pad ped (ปลาดุกทอดกรอบผัดเผ็ด), catfish that was deep fried to crispy and then covered in an amazing green curry chili paste. It was incredibly delicious as were all the other dishes we ordered. It was an outstanding meal to have on our last and final day traveling in Bangkok during this 2 Weeks In Bangkok travel guide video series. After lunch we headed back to the hotel to grab our backpack, and we caught a taxi back home (yes we actually live in Bangkok!). ============================================ This entire video series was made and produced by Mark Wiens and Ying Wiens in Bangkok, Thailand. Soei Restaurant (ร้านเส่ย): https://www.eatingthaifood.com/soei-restaurant-bangkok/ Free eBook: https://migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ T-shirts: https://www.eatingthaifood.com/store/ 00:39 Doy Kuay Teow Reua (ร้านต้อยก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ) - To begin the day in Bangkok we started off by going to one of my favorite boat noodles restaurants in Bangkok called, Doy Kuay Teow Reua (ร้านต้อยก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ), which is located just a 10 minute walk from Victory Monument and boat noodle alley. I usually eat a few bowl of kuay teow reua sen lek nam tok (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือเส้นเล็กหมูน้ำตก), Thai boat noodles with the medium sized rice noodles - that’s my favorite boat noodle noodle. Another thing they serve at the restaurant is khanom thuay (ขนมถ้วย), which is a bowl snack dessert made with coconut. It’s quite good if you enjoy Thai desserts and sweets. 7:33 Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด) - Open and busiest on the weekends, Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด) is an island in the middle of the Chao Phraya River just on the outside of Bangkok located in Nonthaburi at Pak Kret. From Bangkok’s Victory Monument, we jumped onto a bus and we rode all the way to Pak Kret, and then from there we jumped on the back of a motorbike to save time, and then onwards to a quick ferry ride across the river and to Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด). Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด) is a little bit on the Thai touristy side, it’s kind of like a floating market, but instead of boats and floatings, it’s an island market. It’s a good place to just walk around and explore especially on the weekends when you’re in Bangkok. Again, just like Bang Krachao, even though you’re so close to Bangkok, you feel far removed. 13:18 Soei (ร้านเส่ย) Restaurant - One of my favorite restaurants in all of Bangkok and one of the best restaurants in Bangkok is Soei (ร้านเส่ย), located along the railroad track at Samsen station. I’ve been eating at Soei (ร้านเส่ย) and every time I go, I just can’t get over how delicious the Thai food is. If you love spicy and flavorful Thai food, this is a must eat at restaurant. One of the dishes that very famous at Soei is kaem pla too tod (แก้มปลาทูทอด), which are mackerel cheeks that are deep fried with garlic and served like crispy fish head chips. Another dish I ordered this meal at Soei was gaeng ba pla (แกงป่าปลา), Thai jungle curry with fish. He makes one of the best versions in Bangkok - it’s spicy, pungently flavorful, and packed with herbs and spices. But the ultimate dish to eat at Soei is boo neem pad pongari (ปูนิ่มผัดผงกะหรี่), soft shell crab in a Thai yellow egg curry, it’s EPIC, there’s no other way to put it. The soft shell crab was tender and the curry was outrageously delicious, with a great flavor of yellow curry powder, and the egg making things ever richer and more flavorful. Finally another dish that I have to order every-time I eat at Soei is yam kai dao (ยำไข่ดาว), Thai fried egg salad, and it’s made perfectly here. The egg is crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It’s just insanely delicious. Soei (ร้านเส่ย) is easily one of my favorite restaurants in all of Bangkok. Full video about Soei: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZaXItI5z-k Blog post about Soei: http://www.eatingthaifood.com/2014/08/soei-restaurant-bangkok/ 23:05 Ratchadamnoen Stadium (สนามมวยราชดำเนิน) - Even though I’ve been based in Bangkok since 2009, one thing I had never done is go to a Muay Thai match, and so after the best meal ever, Ying and I went to Ratchadamnoen Stadium (สนามมวยราชดำเนิน) for an evening of Muay Thai. It was pretty interesting, and along with the fights, the dancing rituals that go along with Muay Thai are also very interesting to see. ============================================ This food video was made by Mark Wiens and Ying Wiens - check out our blogs: Migrationology.com: http://migrationology.com/ EatingThaiFood.com: http://eatingthaifood.com/ TravelByYing.com: http://travelbyying.com/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology ►Camera I use: http://migrationology.com/travel-resources/ ►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/ ►Make a Donation: https://migrationology.com/donate/ ►Download Your Free Bangkok eBook: http://migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ (it includes all the information, addresses, a map, and prices of everything we did and ate in this entire 2 Weeks In Bangkok video series). Beef fire pot restaurant: http://www.eatingthaifood.com/2015/12/thai-beef-soup-bangkok/ Free eBook: http://migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ T-shirts: https://www.eatingthaifood.com/store/ 00:29 Day trip to Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า) - One Day 11 of this Bangkok video travel guide series, we decided to head over to Bang Krachao (บางกระเจ้า), which is a quiet area, across the river from Bangkok. It’s a good place to rent a bicycle, and a place that feels like you’re far removed from the city, yet you’re literally just across the river, so you can see all of Bangkok. We first headed to Wat Bang Krachao Nok Pier (ท่าเรือวัดบางกระเจ้านอก) and caught a boat across the Chao Phraya river. From there, Ying and I rented bicycles, and biked around for a while. We didn’t actually do too much, but the beauty of going there is just biking on the elevated walkways - it’s really beautiful. We stopped for a couple snacks including a wood apple, which are not easy to find in Bangkok and I love them! We also had a couple Thai desserts before heading back on the boat back to Bangkok - the big city. 7:26 Heng Chun Seng (ร้าน เฮ้งชุนเส็ง) - For lunch we headed to Heng Chun Seng (ร้าน เฮ้งชุนเส็ง), an awesome Thai beef fire pot restaurant. Ying and I were so hungry after the bicycle ride, that we ended up eating not just one, but two flaming hot beef fire pots. They are delicious. We had one maw fai ruam (หม้อไฟรวม), which is a beef fire pot with everything includes, and then we also had a maw fai neau buay (หม้อไฟเนื้อเปื่อย), which is only the beef - if you prefer no organs mixed in, this is the one you should order. They also serve Thai pork satay, which is pretty delicious here too. For more details about this Thai beef restaurant, check out my review here: http://www.eatingthaifood.com/2012/08/fire-pot-beef-soup-heng-chun-seng/ 15:18 Khlong Toey Market (ตลาดคลองเตย) - One of the biggest and most exciting fresh market in Bangkok is Khlong Toey Market (ตลาดคลองเตย), and it’s busy throughout the day and night. After having our flaming beef fire pots, we took a stroll though Khlong Toey Market (ตลาดคลองเตย), and enjoyed the atmosphere and the colorful pandamonium of everything. It’s a great fresh wet market to walk around when you’re in Bangkok. We stopped for a couple snacks, including some sweet tamarind and some grilled banana - which are one of my favorite snacks on the streets of Bangkok. 20:07 Dinner at Vietnamese and More, and Kiew Muang Jeen (ร้านเกี๊ยวเมืองจีน) - Ying and I didn’t really have any dinner plans, but then Dwight (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs6-BMxPKPci6fODI8nJ6xw) called me and we ended up going to a friend’s restaurant called Vietnamese and More. I ordered the Xui Mai Meatball with Tomato Sauce Banh Mi, which was delicious - it had been a while since I had a meatball sub. We then headed to Kiew Muang Jeen (ร้านเกี๊ยวเมืองจีน) for some Chinese food. The food was alright, not amazing, but the eggplant fries were the best. ============================================ Dwight: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs6-BMxPKPci6fODI8nJ6xw Beef Restaurant: http://www.eatingthaifood.com/2012/08/fire-pot-beef-soup-heng-chun-seng/ Bang Krachao: http://migrationology.com/2014/07/bang-krachao-bangkok-bike-tour/ This food video was made by Mark Wiens and Ying Wiens - check out our blogs: Migrationology.com: http://migrationology.com/ EatingThaiFood.com: http://eatingthaifood.com/ TravelByYing.com: http://travelbyying.com/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology ►Camera I use: http://migrationology.com/travel-resources/ ►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/ ►Make a Donation: https://migrationology.com/donate/ ►Download Your Free Bangkok eBook: http://migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ (it includes all the information, addresses, a map, and prices of e
