Today we start this class with standing twists before moving into a juicy full body flow to build heat. Building heat like this, with yoga poses like chair pose and downward dog, we warm our muscles and ligaments up so that we can safely enter the twists. Then we step back into lunge with twists, which stretches the hamstrings, quadriceps, and calves and improves balance... if you want to seriously increase your overall flexibility, then this posture will do the trick! We move down to the ground into a squatting position (malasana) with a twist before moving into a seated spinal twist. This full body yoga flow will open your shoulders, stretch your hips, hamstrings, and calves, and will energize your entire body. If you re sitting for long periods during the day then you will LOVE this practice, especially at the end of the day.
