Then we move into downward facing dog to wake up the hamstrings, focusing on lengthening the spine. We then move to the ground for some back-strengthening exercises with baby cobra to engage the lower back, hamstrings, and shoulders. Next, we go through a few lower back strengthening exercises, which will help support your spine and back and eliminate the most common kinds of lower back pain. If you ve never worked with your lower back muscles before, then it might be uncomfortable. But as you begin to do this kind of targeted therapeutic work, it helps you develop a sense of what strengthening feels like versus pinching pain, in which case you simply back off. This yoga strengthening routine is perfect for beginners because you can adjust your practice according to your level.
