This little-known tennis tip will help you to improve your transition game in singles and doubles, as you start moving more efficiently on the court. 0:00 Tennis Backhand Run Through Intro 1:09 Common tennis footwork mistake 2:25 Two handed backhand problem 3:58 How to easily improve your transition footwork 4:18 Two handed backhand footwork 8:17 One handed backhand footwork 10:00 More from Tennis Evolution and Link for FREE MEMBERSHIP Most tennis players make the mistake of stepping in with their front foot on a ball that moves off the court and towards the singles sideline. Hence, they are struggling because they block their hips, lose their balance, run off the court, and are unable to create great angles. Jeff suggests using the outside leg to let your front foot come through after making contact with the ball. When you re moving forward, you have to switch it up, and train your body to go off the outside leg. Consequently, you’ll be able to develop great balance and coordination on your approach shots. If you have a two hander, Jeff recommends finishing with the opposite hand on the racquet and taking the non-dominant hand off the racquet. On your one handed backhand, He suggests getting the strings to face the target and the tip of the racquet to go up more. Finally, Jeff advises getting out a bucket of balls or a bag of balls to work on this footwork pattern by just dropping the ball in front of you. These are the little nuances that you should be practicing to dramatically improve your tennis game.
