↓Please see below for free sheet music↓ English translation of Italian sonnet read by our 6-year-old daughter, Emilie. 00:00 Allegro (in E major) 03:14 Largo e pianissimo sempre (in C♯ minor) 05:46 Allegro pastorale (in E major) It is thought Vivaldi wrote “The Four Seasons” to accompany four sonnets he wrote himself. Each sonnet is divided into three sections, corresponding to a movement in the concerto. The Four Seasons is program music intended to evoke the changing seasons of the year. In addition to sonnets, Vivaldi provided instructions such as "The barking dog" in the second movement of “Spring” Free sheet music featured in this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JE963MdCTUKgSg2yy76jZHiA-KI2DSnI/view?usp=sharing The Largo (2nd movement) has an alternative melody which I played by ear after listening to an orchestral recording. I notated what I played by hand. It can be played as a solo or duet with a student taking the bass notes representing the “The barking dog”. The voicing and note distribution between hands when played as a solo is a little tricky, so an overhead tutorial will follow.
