AUSSIES AT ROMANIACS: CHRIS PERRY Cross Training Enduro

Riders from around 50 nations have come to the beautiful town of Sibiu and the all important Red Bull Romaniacs Prolog 2019 is up first. Chris Perry is just aiming to finish, but the man to beat? Graham Jarvis, currently ranked first in the enduro series. The stars of this Romaniacs Prolog 2019 stand out in this extreme race within Sibiu’s town center where artificial obstacles produce an amazing motorcycle show. With a record six wins at Romaniacs, the 44-year-old will be chasing a seventh win after recent victories at Erzbergrodeo and Hixpania. Factory-supported private rider Manuel Lettenbichler from Germany is less than half Graham's age and currently ranked second in the enduro series. Mani has come along way for this Red Bull Romaniacs Prolog 2019 under the guidance of his well known dad, Andreas "Letti" Lettenbichler who won Romaniacs back in 2009. And rounding out the field are plenty of well known riders: Wade Young, Jonny Walker, Billy Bolt, Alfredo Gomez and Taddy. Red Bull Romaniacs is spread over 5 days - 5 days of pure Hard Enduro Racing Action: The first day starts with the spectacular and legendary prologue, which is watched every year in the middle of Sibiu (Hermannstadt) by thousands of spectators. Four off-road racing days followed, in which the riders in the Southern Carpathians around Sibiu enjoy some of the most beautiful and at the same time most challenging Hard Enduro tracks on this planet. Where? It's the "Bulevardul Coposu" in the very heart of Sibiu Town Centre. Who is responsible for this annual carnage held in the town centre of Sibiu? Andy Fazakas and the ''Crazy Bike club Sibiu'. By combining GPS navigation with breathtaking wilderness, steepest ascents and descents, and the same experienced and professional organization, the Red Bull Romaniacs become one of the hardest, but also the most memorable, experience for Hard Enduro riders. Arguably the world's hardest extreme enduro, Red Bull Romaniacs probably has the toughest prolog as well for guys like Chris Perry. Each year these guys up the ante with new track designs, spectacular obstacles, extreme elements, and difficult challenges for the competitors to race over. The World famous Red Bull Romaniacs 2019 presents the "Prolog" of Red Bull Romaniacs, where competitors have to prove their endurance, riding skills and experience in front of thousands of fans, television crews, internet watchers, journalists and media. Riders like Chris Perry will need skill, speed and stamina to get through the opening day’s prolog before battling it out in the Carpathian mountains for the following three days. We had a look at the obstacles planned for the Red Bull Romaniacs Prolog 2019, now lets see the gold class riders. The same with the poker and canyon sections. Sibiu is one of Romania's most beautiful towns and every year tons of rocks, logs, tyres and lumber are carted in to transform the main road into a dirt rider's nightmare. For Red Bull Romaniacs Prolog 2019? Similar obstacles to previous years, but spaced in a way that creates chaos for the riders. Sweet cookies will be anything but sweet, and the selector will reward riders who can ride along narrow beams. The rocks used provide very little traction once they are wet for Chris Perry. The dreaded car tyres are back in the Black and white and minefield sections. If you can avoid the holes riders will be fine in the 2019 Red Bull Romaniacs Prolog, but the logs and rocks make it hard to do that. And the rail road? It's tough when it's dry, but when it rains it's a whole new world of pain for the riders. So best of luck Chris Perry and all you crazy mofos willing to take this on. And remember what doesn't kill you in the Red Bull Romaniacs Prolog 2019 will probably just leave you disabled.
